In a powerful step toward aligning business excellence with environmental responsibility, Business Today Multiverse is set to host the inaugural edition of the BT India’s Most Sustainable Companies – Summit & Awards 2025 on June 6 in New Delhi. Themed ‘Charting India Inc’s Sustainable Future’, the event aims to spotlight corporations driving change through sustainability, ESG leadership, and responsible business practices.
The landmark initiative comes at a time when ESG compliance is no longer a peripheral concern but a central mandate for India’s corporate sector. Bringing together a wide range of leaders from industry, government, finance, and sustainability, the summit will address the urgent need to balance economic growth with climate commitments and social impact goals.
According to a press release, the event will feature a special keynote address by Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, reflecting the government’s strategic focus on India’s green economy and environmental roadmap.
To ensure credibility and transparency in recognising sustainable corporate excellence, CareEdge ESG Ratings led the rigorous evaluation process. The assessment reviewed publicly available data across the top 1,000 listed companies spanning 11 key sectors with high environmental and social relevance. The final list of awardees was decided by a high-level jury chaired by Rajnish Kumar, former Chairman of the State Bank of India, further strengthening the integrity of the honours.
Siddharth Zarabi, Group Editor of Business Today, will open the summit with a welcome address, setting the tone for a day of dialogue and deliberation.
The event promises thought-provoking conversations with key industry voices, including Nikunj Dube (CARE ESG Ratings), Yashika Singh (PepsiCo India and South Asia), Anjalli Kumar (Zomato), Namrata Rana (KPMG), Pramod Rao (SEBI), Seema Arora (CII), Prabodha Acharya (JSW Group), Abanti Sankaranarayanan (Mahindra & Mahindra), Dr. Anantharaman Subramaniyan (Siemens Ltd), and Sanjay Podder (Accenture).
An extensive speaker line-up will also join in multiple panels and fireside chats, including experts like Dr. Nilanjan Ghosh (ORF), Safi Ahsan Rizvi (NDMA), Dr. Jaivardhan Ramanlal Bhatt (RIS), Vaibhav Chaturvedi (CEEW), Anjali Bansal (Avaana), Swapna Gupta, Mridula Ramesh (Sundaram Climate Institute), Vineet Mittal (Avaada Group), Joshua Wycliffe (International Solar Alliance), Meyyappan Nagappan (Trilegal), Amit Kapur (JSA), Srinath Sridharan and Ashish Parikh (Diageo India).
Adding muscle to the mission are the summit’s strategic partners—L&T as Green Partner, Diageo as CPG Sustainability Partner, and PepsiCo as Sustainable Progress Partner. KREDL and RVNL join as Associate Partners, collectively underscoring industry-wide support for the ESG movement.
The event will culminate with the much-anticipated BT India’s Most Sustainable Companies Awards 2025, honouring enterprises that have made meaningful progress in sustainable practices. The ceremony will also witness the unveiling of a special sustainability-themed issue of Business Today magazine, bearing the tagline: ‘Sustainability is no longer an option, it is the only way forward.’
As India Inc embraces sustainability not as a checkbox but as a core corporate value, Business Today’s latest initiative marks a pivotal moment in the country’s ESG journey—blending thought leadership, recognition, and action to shape a greener future.
