BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, announce the launch of ‘PRIDEntity S2’, a unique campaign designed to raise awareness and spark conversations around LGBTQIA+ rights. This four-week initiative, hosted by RJ Rani, aims to delve into various topics pertinent to the queer community, featuring notable experts and celebrities.
In 2018, the Supreme Court’s historic decision to decriminalize same-sex relationships paved the way for greater freedom for the queer community in India. However, many still face discrimination and bias both personally and professionally.
‘PRIDEntity S2’ seeks to address these challenges by discussing workplace inclusion, family dynamics, romantic relationships, and legal rights. The campaign will also explore personal journeys under the theme ‘Unique Aspects of Life’ and tackle misconceptions in the final week, with guests providing valuable insights.
The first season of ‘PRIDEntity’ resonated with over 200 million listeners, initiating significant conversations about queer openness. This year, the campaign aims to increase engagement through an Anonymous AMA (Ask Me Anything) segment, where listeners can anonymously submit their questions and concerns. Esteemed guests, including experts and celebrities, will respond to these inquiries, fostering a more inclusive dialogue.
Sunil Kumaran, COO of BIG FM, commented, “In line with our brand philosophy of ‘Dhun Badal Ke Toh Dekho’, ‘PRIDEntity’ encourages listeners to view the LGBTQIA+ community from a more inclusive perspective. Season 1 was well-received, and with Season 2, we are focusing on educating the masses on all aspects of queer life. By initiating these conversations, we aim to promote cultural change and progress.”
‘PRIDEntity S2’ will air across 45 markets and feature over 20 guests from the LGBTQIA+ community, sharing real-life stories of their challenges and triumphs. Listeners can submit questions for the Anonymous AMA via a QR code on BIG FM’s social media. Tune in to RJ Rani’s afternoon show, Monday to Friday, to hear the answers and engage in more insightful conversations.
