Celebrating the spirit of selfless service and unrecognised excellence, ABP Asmita hosted the prestigious Asmita Sanman Puraskar 2025 in Ahmedabad, drawing heartfelt attention to Gujarat’s real heroes. The event honoured individuals who have tirelessly contributed to the state’s progress, often without the spotlight, but with unwavering dedication.

The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, who lauded the awardees as the backbone of the state’s development. “Gujarat’s growth isn’t only driven by large-scale policies or infrastructural advancements, but also by the values and service of individuals who work quietly yet profoundly for the betterment of society,” the Chief Minister said during his address. Joining him was Shri Shankar Chaudhary, Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, who praised the awardees as true symbols of Gujarat’s resilience, culture, and strength.

As per an official press release issued by ABP Asmita, the Asmita Sanman Puraskar is a heartfelt tribute to individuals making notable contributions across diverse domains such as education, literature, music, sports, culture, social service, and industry. The 2025 edition of the awards saw an eclectic group of changemakers being recognised for their unique impact on society.

In the Education category, Rakesh Patel was acknowledged for transforming a rural government school into a model institution. Musician and composer Shri Prashant Kedar Jadav was honoured in the Culture category for contributing over 500 songs to Gujarati music and films. Renowned poet Rajendra Shukla was felicitated for his enduring influence in Gujarati literature.

The Social Service award went to Suresh Ahir, who has worked relentlessly for the betterment of the divyang (differently-abled) community, despite facing physical limitations himself. The Sports award celebrated the grassroots movement of villagers from Biliaamba led by Raskibhai, for promoting the traditional game of kho-kho. Celebrated playback singer Bhoomi Trivedi received recognition for her distinctive voice and contribution to Gujarati music. In the field of Entertainment, veteran actor Siddharth Randeria was honoured for his remarkable journey in Gujarati theatre and cinema.

A special moment of the evening was the felicitation of Shrimati Paru Jaykrishna — the first woman President of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry — for her pioneering role in Gujarat’s industrial sector and leadership in business.

The highest honour of the night, the Maha Sanman, was presented to Dr. J. M. Vyas for his groundbreaking work in the field of forensic science and engineering, marking a career that has not only advanced scientific practice in the state but has also strengthened the justice system.

The event reflected the ethos of ABP Asmita, which continues to highlight stories of perseverance, integrity, and social change. The Asmita Sanman Puraskar 2025 was a powerful reminder of the individuals whose silent commitment has helped shape the state’s present and future.
