Following the success of its previous YouTube originals, Balaji Telefilms Ltd has announced its latest digital series, ‘Saas Bahu Aur Swaad’, set to premiere on October 7 exclusively on the Balaji Telefilms YouTube Channel. The show promises a heartwarming blend of family, food, and humor, rooted in the vibrant city of Agra.
According to a Balaji Telefilms press release, the series revolves around Indu Rastogi (Aparna Ghosal), a devoted homemaker whose culinary skills hold her family together, often behind the scenes. The story takes a turn when Riya (Chahat Pandey), a spirited new bahu, enters the household with dreams of building her own identity. What starts as a clash of values gradually evolves into an unexpected companionship as Riya discovers Indu’s hidden culinary talent. Together, they navigate a world where age-old traditions meet modern aspirations, delivering a mix of laughter, emotion, and relatable family moments.
The series also stars Abhishek Malik as Karan, along with Shaktee Singh, Mahi Sharma, Seema Singh, Kushal Shah, and Shreya Acharya. Nitin Burman, Group Chief Revenue Officer of Balaji Telefilms Digital, said, “With Saas Bahu Aur Swaad, we wanted to create a series that feels both familiar and refreshing. It’s a celebration of women, families, and the everyday magic that happens around the dining table. We look forward to audiences joining the Rastogi family for a story filled with warmth, humor, and flavor.”
Chahat Pandey, who plays Riya, shared her excitement, saying, “Riya’s journey is a celebration of every woman who dares to dream big—even when the world expects her to remain in the kitchen. Being part of a Balaji Telefilms show of this kind feels truly special, blending humor, heartfelt family moments, and the magic of food in a way that’s so relatable. I can’t wait for viewers to laugh, cry, and cheer along with us.”
Abhishek Malik, essaying the role of Karan, added, “Karan reflects the modern Indian son and husband, balancing tradition and progress. Acting in Saas Bahu Aur Swaad was a joy—filled with laughter, food, and genuine emotion at every turn. I’m excited to see how viewers connect with Karan and the family—it’s a show for anyone who knows the power of family, no matter how dramatic things get!”
With its unique combination of heartfelt storytelling, light-hearted humor, and the nostalgic comfort of home-cooked meals, ‘Saas Bahu Aur Swaad’ is positioned as a festive-season favorite for families. The series will stream every Tuesday and Thursday, promising to connect audiences across generations while celebrating the enduring bond between food, family, and togetherness.
