Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18’, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, witnessed a nostalgic moment when actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan appeared on the show to promote their upcoming film ‘Udta Teer’.
During the episode, Ayushmann paid a heartfelt tribute to Amitabh Bachchan by singing the iconic title track ‘Kabhi Kabhie Mere Dil Mein’. The soulful rendition brought back memories for the veteran actor and took him back to the time when he was working on Yash Chopra’s ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ and ‘Deewaar’ simultaneously.

As mentioned in the press release, Bachchan recalled how both films were being shot around the same period, despite being vastly different in their tone and storytelling. While ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ was a romantic drama, ‘Deewaar’ had a completely different atmosphere and narrative.
Speaking about the memories, Amitabh Bachchan praised Ayushmann for the tribute and said that the song had brought back many old memories. He recalled that ‘Kabhi Kabhie ‘was shot in Kashmir and that Yash Chopra was simultaneously working on ‘Deewaar’. Bachchan also reflected on the remarkable versatility of the filmmaker, who was widely known for his romantic films but had suddenly taken on a film as intense and dramatically different as ‘Deewaar’.
Bachchan further remembered that the shooting of ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ began just two days after the shooting of ‘Deewaar’. He spoke about how Yash Chopra was able to transform himself and change the entire atmosphere while moving between the two films, calling it a reflection of the filmmaker’s greatness.
The nostalgic exchange continued as Ayushmann and Sara joined in celebrating Amitabh Bachchan during his birthday month. The duo requested the megastar to deliver some of his most iconic dialogues across different emotions, giving audiences another glimpse of the versatility that has defined his decades-long career.
Ayushmann’s musical tribute and Bachchan’s memories of working with Yash Chopra offered a rare glimpse into the making of two landmark films from Indian cinema. The moment also brought together different generations of actors while celebrating Bachchan’s enduring legacy on screen.
‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18’ airs Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
