Network18 has announced new focus areas for its leadership team to better navigate the evolving media landscape and enhance focus on product innovation, technology, and audience growth. These strategic moves are designed to boost revenue and improve cost efficiency amidst a rapidly changing news delivery environment.
In a memo to senior management, CEO Rahul Joshi outlined the challenges facing the global news industry and emphasized the need to adapt to new distribution formats and the growing influence of artificial intelligence across various business functions.
Puneet Singhvi, currently the Chief Executive Officer of Network18 (Digital) and President of Corporate Strategy, has been tasked with leading digital audience growth, overseeing the off-platform business, and establishing and managing the Centre of Excellence (CoE). Singhvi will also prioritize cost management and focus on driving revenue through strategic partnerships with platforms such as Google, Taboola, and Amazon, as well as exploring opportunities with AI providers and connected TV brands.
Avinash Kaul, the Chief Executive Officer of Network18 (Broadcast) and Managing Director of A+E Networks, TV18, will see his role expanded to include direct revenue growth across TV, digital, and print, excluding Moneycontrol. Kaul will continue to drive TV ratings and oversee operational aspects of TV and print. His responsibilities will also include a greater emphasis on revenue generation through IPs and branded content, collaborating closely with vertical heads and CEOs to meet revenue targets.
Both Singhvi and Kaul will continue to report directly to Rahul Joshi as they implement these changes and drive Network18’s strategic objectives forward.
