Network18 CEO and A+E Networks MD Avinash Kaul recently marked his 10th anniversary with Network18 Media & Investments Limited.
Reflecting on his journey, in a lengthy LinkedIn post Kaul shared his experiences and the network’s extraordinary growth over the past decade, highlighting the transformation of Network18’s channels and its ascent to market leadership.
When Kaul joined Network18 in 2014, the media landscape was vastly different. The network’s channels, then known as CNN IBN, IBN 7, and IBN Lokmat, have since been rebranded to CNN News18, News18 India, and News18 Lokmat, respectively. He noted that regional channels were not part of Network18 at that time. Today, the network boasts a dominant presence in both television and digital media, with several channels leading their respective markets and many regional channels ranking in the top three.
One of the significant milestones mentioned in his post is the News18 Hindi website surpassing all legacy players to become the number one Hindi website in India. Additionally, Moneycontrol has emerged as the leading financial website in the country, while Forbes and History continue to excel in their categories.
Expressing his gratitude, Kaul acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues and the top leadership team at Network18 for their wisdom and guidance. He extended a special shout-out to the editorial, sales, marketing, distribution, HR, tech, finance, and legal teams for their relentless efforts in ensuring the success and standing of the Network18 brands.
Kaul’s post concluded on an optimistic note: looking forward to another decade of leadership and innovation at Network18.
