In a significant step towards boosting the state’s cultural and tourism profile, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ATDC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with BigTree Entertainment Private Limited, better known as BookMyShow, to organise international music concerts in Assam.
According to a report published in The Economic Times, the collaboration is expected to pave the way for high-profile musical events in the state, positioning Assam as a vibrant destination for global entertainment. The move is also seen as part of a larger initiative by Assam Tourism to amplify its presence on the international cultural map while attracting visitors and investments to the region.
BigTree Entertainment, India’s leading entertainment ticketing and event management platform, has a notable history of managing large-scale concerts and festivals across the country. With this new agreement, the company is expected to bring its expertise and international artist partnerships to Assam, creating a world-class concert experience for audiences in the Northeast.
Officials from both parties highlighted that this partnership will not only promote music tourism but also offer an economic boost to local businesses, hospitality, and cultural enterprises. ATDC aims to leverage this collaboration to create a sustained calendar of events that attract both domestic and international tourists, while also nurturing local talent by offering them a platform alongside globally renowned performers.
Assam Tourism has in recent years made strong strides in branding the state as a key travel destination, known for its natural beauty, festivals, and cultural richness. The new focus on global entertainment and youth-oriented experiences is expected to draw a younger, more diverse demographic to the region.
