Aptech Limited, a leader in non-formal vocational training for over 38 years, has partnered with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to foster Indian talent in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics (AVGC), and Media & Entertainment.
According to a press release, this 3-year collaboration was launched at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa 2024, spotlighting Aptech as the title sponsor for the Creative Minds of Tomorrow (CMOT) event, held from November 21-24, 2024.
Under the collaboration, Aptech set up skilling booths offering hands-on training in animation, visual effects, theatrical beauty, and fashion through its flagship brands like Arena Animation, Maya Academy of Advanced Creativity (MAAC), Lakmé Academy, and The Virtual Production Academy. This initiative aimed at bridging the gap between talent and industry needs, providing immersive learning experiences to over 100 young aspirants.
Since its inception in 2021, CMOT has served as a launchpad for Indian cinematic talent, connecting them to international platforms. Participants gained insights through masterclasses, panel discussions, and sessions at Film Bazaar, IFFI’s business wing. The 2024 event focused on identifying and nurturing forward-thinking narratives that align with India’s cultural and creative aspirations.
Neeraj Malik, Chief Business Officer of Aptech, emphasized the importance of skilling in bridging the gap between passion and professional opportunities. “We aim to empower individuals with the skills they need to succeed in the competitive AVGC and Media landscape,” said Malik.
Malik participated in the Knowledge Series panel on ‘The Evolution of Digital Filmmaking,’ moderated by Vijay Vikram Singh, the iconic voice of Bigg Boss India. Other panelists included:
• Sanjiv Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of I&B.
• Mahima Kaul, Director, Public Policy, Netflix.
• Biren Ghose, Managing Director, Technicolor Group.
• Pankaj Saxena, NFDC Head of Department.
The discussion explored the technological evolution in filmmaking and skills needed to excel in a fast-evolving industry.
NFDC’s Head of Department, Shri Pankaj Saxena, commended Aptech’s long-standing contribution to the sector, stating, “This partnership is a milestone in building an accessible and innovative platform for India’s AVGC workforce.”
Aptech’s participation highlights its commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation in the Media & Entertainment sector, aligning with IFFI Goa’s vision to spotlight creativity and excellence.
