In a significant development for the burgeoning online skill gaming industry in India, the E-Gaming Federation (EGF) has announced the appointment of Anuraag Saxena as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 1, 2023.
EGF, which represents top online skill gaming operators in India, is set to benefit from Anuraag Saxena’s extensive experience and strategic leadership.
Anuraag brings a wealth of expertise from various sectors, having served in senior management and advisory roles at renowned organizations such as GE Capital, Prudential Assurance, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse.
Anuraag is not only a Chartered Accountant in India but also holds an MBA from the USA. His diverse knowledge, international experience, and deep-rooted understanding of government affairs position him as a valuable asset for navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the online skill gaming sector, the company said in a press release.
In his previous roles, Anuraag co-founded the world’s largest crowdsourced heritage-recovery platform and played a pivotal role in bringing the ‘World Toilet Summit’ to partner with the Swacch Bharat initiative in India, in collaboration with WTO, multilateral agencies, and the Government of India.
Commenting on his appointment, Anuraag Saxena, the newly appointed CEO of EGF, expressed his enthusiasm for the challenges and opportunities in the Indian online skill gaming industry. He emphasized the need for building a responsible and transparent gaming ecosystem while aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) sector as crucial to India’s digital future and economic progress.
Malay Shukla, Secretary of EGF, welcomed Anuraag’s appointment, highlighting his strategic knowledge and proven track record in delivering transformation programs. With Anuraag’s leadership and policy thought leadership, EGF is poised to significantly contribute to the Indian online skill gaming industry.
As EGF’s new CEO, Anuraag Saxena is expected to spearhead management and policy advocacy initiatives, working closely with EGF’s member stakeholders to create a safe, responsible, fair, and transparent environment for the online skill gaming sector.
