Indian-origin executive Anjali Sud has been announced as the new CEO of Tubi, the ad-supported TV streaming service owned by Fox Corporation.
Sud, who previously served as the CEO of Vimeo, will succeed Farhad Massoudi, the Founder and CEO of Tubi.
The appointment will take effect on September 1. Tubi has recently become the most popular free ad-supported TV streaming service in the United States.
Paul Cheesbrough, the CEO of Tubi Media Group, praised Sud as a highly accomplished leader in the technology and media industries, known for her strategic disruption and authentic leadership.
Cheesbrough expressed confidence in Sud’s ability to guide Tubi towards further growth, market leadership, and creativity, PTI reported.
Sud shared her excitement about her new role on Twitter, emphasizing her commitment to empowering audiences and shaping the future of entertainment. She highlighted the importance of providing people with access to diverse stories from around the world.
During her tenure as CEO of Vimeo, Sud helped establish the platform as a prominent hub for video creators and professionals worldwide. Vimeo attracted over 300 million users, achieved substantial revenue growth and generated significant cash flow.
Before joining Vimeo, Sud held various positions in finance, media, and e-commerce at Time Warner and Amazon.
