Jio has appointed Anil Jayaraj as the President of its ‘Jio Home Digital Services’ division, marking a strategic move to bolster its digital and home entertainment offerings. Jayaraj, who previously served as CEO of Viacom18 Sports, brings over 30 years of experience in marketing, sales, and business development to his new role.
Jayaraj’s career spans leadership roles at some of the industry’s top organizations, including Star Sports, Castrol, Pidilite, and BP. His expertise in advertising sales and revenue generation played a pivotal role in his career success, notably during his time at Star Sports, where he was instrumental in driving revenue for major sporting events such as the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In his new role, Jayaraj will report directly to Pankaj Pawar, Managing Director of Jio. He is expected to lead the growth of Jio’s home digital services division, a vital component of Reliance Jio’s business strategy. His vast experience in the sports and entertainment sectors, particularly his success in monetizing high-profile sporting events, is seen as a valuable asset for Jio as it strengthens its position in the home entertainment and digital services space.
Jio’s move to bring Jayaraj on board reflects the company’s ambitions to enhance its offerings in digital services, positioning itself as a key player in the increasingly competitive home entertainment market.
