After working at Disney Star for more than 13 years, Amita Maheshwari, the head of HR for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and India regions, announced her departure.
The letter was released, according to the corporation, by Luke Kang, regional head of APAC, and K Madhvan, national manager of India.
After 21st Century Fox was acquired by Disney in March 2019, Maheshwari was elevated to HR Head of Disney across APAC and India. As part of the position, she led the integration and transitions of Disney and Fox organizations across the region, effectively managing tremendous change, while keeping employees at the center, Financial Express reported.
Maheshwari joined Star India in 2009 as a member of the company’s core management group, which is headed by CEO Uday Shankar.
She upgraded and diversified Star’s talent pool across the company, steadily ensuring that she was driving organizational growth by defining the right HR and talent strategy, recruiting a diverse talent pool, establishing solid HR systems, and developing HR solutions utilizing a blend of technology, many of which were said to be industry firsts.
She also implemented highly strict diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I) policies throughout the nation. Additionally, she oversaw significant mergers and acquisitions in India, such as those involving Sports, Maa TV, MediaPro, and Star CJ, among others.
