Director Ali Abbas Zafar marked the 10th anniversary of his blockbuster film ‘Sultan’ by sharing an emotional note on social media.
Celebrating the milestone, he posted a video featuring memorable scenes from the film, behind the scenes moments, and the overwhelming response from audiences when the movie was released.
Expressing his gratitude, Zafar thanked Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma, producer Aditya Chopra, the entire cast and crew, and fans for making ‘Sultan’ a huge success. Sharing his feelings, he wrote that it has been 10 years since the film’s release, but the love and appreciation from audiences continue to grow with time. He added that Sultan will always hold a special place in his heart and thanked everyone who contributed to its journey.
Released in 2016, ‘Sultan’ tells the inspiring story of Sultan Ali Khan, a wrestler who rises to fame but faces personal and professional challenges before making a remarkable comeback. Salman Khan’s transformation into a wrestler and Anushka Sharma’s performance as wrestler Aarfa received widespread appreciation from critics and audiences alike.
According to an Ani report, the film was praised for its emotional storyline, action packed wrestling sequences, music, and strong performances. It emerged as one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2016 and became one of the biggest hits of Salman Khan’s career.
