Ajit Mohan has decided to step down as Chief Business Officer of Snap after four years with the company. He announced his decision in a LinkedIn post, saying that his reason for leaving is personal.
Mohan said that when he joined Snap, the company set out to rebuild its advertising business. During his tenure, he worked on improving the ads platform, making direct-response advertising a key part of the business and helping advertisers achieve measurable results.
He said the company has made significant progress over the last few years and expressed confidence in Snap, its leadership team and the team he built.
Mohan explained that his family has remained in Singapore while his work required him to travel frequently between New York, Los Angeles and Singapore, along with occasional trips to London, Dubai and Bengaluru. He said he is now returning home and looks forward to spending more time with his family.
Mohan also thanked his colleagues and the people he worked with during his time at Snap. He said he is leaving with confidence in the company and will continue to support Snap as a fan and shareholder.
He also confirmed that Ronan Harris, whom he described as a close friend and partner over the past four years, is taking over as Chief Commercial Officer of Snap.
Mohan said he is considering several things for his next chapter, including writing a book, making films and exploring artificial intelligence.
