Amazon Prime Video is gearing up for a fresh romantic comedy series that brings together Aditi Rao Hydari and Barun Sobti as the lead pair, marking the directorial return of acclaimed actor-filmmaker Konkona Sen Sharma.
The project, which has already gone on floors, promises a contemporary take on romance set against the lively backdrop of South Delhi area.
According to a UNI report, the series is being co-directed by Sen Sharma and Jaydeep Sarkar, known for helming youth-driven and relationship-focused shows such as ‘Feels Like Ishq’ and ‘Rainbow Rishta’. The makers were keen on casting a pairing that felt new and unexplored, eventually zeroing in on Aditi and Barun — two actors with strong individual fan bases in the romance genre, who will be sharing screen space for the first time.
While details of the plot are being closely guarded, the show is described as a modern romantic comedy that draws from urban sensibilities and everyday relationships. Shooting is currently underway, with the series expected to premiere on Prime Video in late 2026 or early 2027.
For Sen Sharma, the project marks a return to direction after a gap of three years. She last directed a short story in Netflix India’s ‘Lust Stories 2’in 2023 and was previously lauded for her feature directorial debut ‘A Death in the Gunj ‘(2017). Most recently, she appeared as an actor in the JioHotstar crime thriller series ‘Search: The Naina Murder Case’.
Sobti, meanwhile, continues to expand his digital presence. He will next be seen opposite Hasleen Kaur in Hardik Mehta’s family comedy series ‘Ikatthe’ and is set to return for the third season of the popular thriller ‘Asur’, which begins filming in mid-2026.
