Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has strengthened its cricket portfolio by acquiring the exclusive television and digital rights for the upcoming India A Tri-Nation Series featuring India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from June 9 to June 21, 2026.

According to a Sony Pictures Networks India press release, the broadcaster will exclusively televise and livestream all matches across India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka. The acquisition further expands SPN’s cricket offerings and reinforces its position as a key destination for international cricket coverage in the region.

The tournament is expected to provide a major platform for emerging cricket talent, with several young players looking to make their mark on the international stage. One of the biggest attractions of the series will be 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has earned his maiden India A ODI call-up following an impressive season in the recently concluded T20 league. Fans will also be eager to watch promising youngsters such as Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni and Suryansh Shedge.

India A will be led by Tilak Varma, with Ruturaj Gaikwad serving as vice-captain. The squad features a mix of exciting young talents, including Nishant Sindhu, Prabhsimran Singh, Kumar Kushagra, Vipraj Nigam, Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj, Arshad Khan and Anukul Roy. The series is being viewed as an important step in developing the next generation of Indian white-ball cricketers.

The competition will be played in a double round-robin format, with each team facing the others twice. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the final, scheduled for June 21. A total of seven One-Day International fixtures will be played during the tournament.

With the addition of the India A Tri-Nation Series, SPN continues to invest in premium live sports content while offering cricket fans more opportunities to follow India’s development squads. The matches will be broadcast live from 10.00 am IST and will be available in five languages — English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Commenting on the acquisition, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution and International Business and Head – Sports Business at Sony Pictures Networks India, said the tournament represents an important milestone in the development pathway for emerging cricketers across the region. He added that teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is expected to be one of the biggest attractions for viewers, given the growing excitement around his talent and performances.

The series promises to offer cricket enthusiasts an early glimpse of future international stars while providing young players with valuable exposure in a competitive multi-nation environment.
