Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming episode of ‘Tum Ho Naa’ will shine a light on self-love, confidence, and resilience as actor Rashami Desai joins host Rajeev Khandelwal to support a contestant who opened up about facing constant body-shaming.
The episode, according to a statement from Sony, features Bina, a homemaker from Bokaro, whose love for dance continues despite social criticism over her appearance and weight. While balancing household responsibilities, Bina keeps pursuing her passion for dance and shares how remarks about her physique once deeply affected her emotionally.
During the interaction, Bina says that she believes dance comes from the heart and not from body size. Moved by her honesty and determination, Desai encouraged her to continue following her passion and become an inspiration for her daughter and other women facing similar judgment.
Rashami spoke about how many women often lose their individuality after marriage and motherhood as priorities shift towards family responsibilities. She stressed that women should not stop living life on their own terms because of societal opinions. She also highlighted how upbringing and family support play an important role in helping women continue chasing their dreams.
Bina admitted that comments about her weight, complexion, and appearance had traumatised her in the past, but she has gradually learned to focus on her happiness instead of public opinion. Praising her spirit, Rashami called her a “true superstar” for continuing to dance despite criticism.
Host Khandelwal also extended his support to Bina and appealed to viewers from Bokaro to encourage and celebrate her talent. He said performers like her deserve recognition on a national platform and assured her that the show would continue supporting her journey.
The episode highlights how ‘Tum Ho Naa’ is attempting to move beyond entertainment by addressing issues like body image, self-worth, and societal pressure. Through Bina’s story, the show underlines the importance of acceptance and encourages viewers to appreciate talent and passion beyond physical appearance.
‘Tum Ho Naa’, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal, airs Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.
