Singer-songwriter Simran Choudhary and rapper MC SQUARE have joined hands for their latest folk-pop single ‘Jamna Kinare’, a playful romantic track inspired by the timeless charm of Radha-Krishna love stories. Blending North Indian folk influences with a contemporary sound, the song brings together Punjabi and Haryanvi flavours in a youthful and modern musical setting.
According to a press release, ‘Jamna Kinare’ captures the teasing chemistry between two lovers against the backdrop of the Yamuna riverbanks. The track combines flirtatious banter, desi warmth, and folk-inspired melodies while reimagining traditional romance for today’s audience. The music video complements the song’s vibrant energy, featuring Simran Choudhary and MC SQUARE in colourful outfits and lively visuals that reflect the cheerful spirit of the track.
The song follows a light-hearted exchange between a girl constantly complaining about her lover following her everywhere, while the boy proudly compares their relationship to the eternal bond of Radha and Krishna. The track balances nostalgia with a fresh sound, aiming to connect with listeners across generations.
Simran Choudhary, known for songs like ‘Lutt Le Gaya’, ‘Aayi Nai’, and ‘Rehle Mere Kol’ with Aditya Rikhari, said the track carries a strong emotional familiarity. “Jamna Kinare has a very playful and nostalgic spirit to it. It reminds me of the kind of love stories we grew up hearing, full of innocence, drama, teasing, and moments that stay with you. We wanted the song to feel deeply rooted in our culture while still sounding fresh and relatable for today’s listeners,” she said.
MC SQUARE, who has built a strong fanbase with tracks like ‘Laado’, ‘Ram Ram’, and ‘Naina Ki Talwar’, added that the song stands out because of its mix of folk culture and modern sound. “It carries humour, romance, and nostalgia, the kind of love stories and emotions we’ve grown up hearing about but presented in a way that feels fresh and instantly relatable to today’s generation,” he shared.
With catchy melodies, playful storytelling, and a colourful visual treatment, ‘Jamna Kinare’ aims to celebrate desi romance while blending traditional folk roots with contemporary pop appeal.
