Dharma Productions is reportedly planning a low-cost ticket pricing strategy for the release of its upcoming film ‘Chand Mera Dil’, in a move aimed at attracting a wider audience to theatres. The decision comes at a time when the film industry is actively exploring ways to bring more viewers back to cinemas amid rising entertainment choices across OTT platforms.
According to a UNI report, the makers are looking at adopting a more audience-friendly pricing model to make the film accessible to a larger section of moviegoers. The strategy is expected to focus on affordable ticket rates during the initial phase of the film’s theatrical release, helping boost footfalls and strengthen word-of-mouth publicity.
The move reflects a growing trend within the Hindi film industry, where producers and distributors are increasingly experimenting with pricing models to revive theatre attendance. Over the past few years, several filmmakers have tried discounted ticket offers and promotional pricing during opening weekends to encourage family audiences and younger viewers to return to cinemas.
While the makers have not officially disclosed detailed pricing plans yet, industry observers believe such strategies could play a crucial role in improving audience turnout, especially for content-driven films. Affordable ticket campaigns have previously shown positive results by increasing occupancy rates and expanding audience reach beyond metro cities.
Dharma Productions, known for backing both large-scale entertainers and emotional dramas, is expected to position ‘Chand Mera Dil’ as a film that connects strongly with mainstream audiences. The low-ticket initiative is also being seen as an attempt to create stronger engagement and make theatrical viewing a more affordable experience for movie lovers.
Further details regarding the film’s release date, cast and promotional plans are expected to be announced soon.
