JioStar has reported its highest-ever reach for the ongoing Indian Premier League as the tournament heads into an intense playoff race. The broadcaster said the combined reach across television and digital platforms has touched 1.1 billion, highlighting the growing scale and engagement around season 19 of the tournament.
According to JioStar press release, the strong performance has been driven by sustained fan engagement throughout the league stage, with audiences continuing to tune in as the competition for playoff spots remains open. While linear television viewership continues to remain strong and is moving towards the 500-million mark, digital reach has registered a 15 percent growth compared to last season.
The report further stated that digital watch-time has increased by 7 percent, while Connected TV (CTV) reach has seen a sharp 25 percent rise, accompanied by a 20 percent jump in watch-time. Regional language engagement has also emerged as a major growth driver this season, with watch-time in regional feeds increasing by 42 percent over the previous edition.
Anup Govindan, Head of Sales at JioStar – Sports, said the consistent intensity of the tournament and the unpredictability around playoff qualification have played a key role in driving week-on-week audience growth across platforms. He noted that the company continues to see strong engagement across screens as viewers remain invested in every matchday.
Apart from audience growth, the broadcaster also witnessed significant advertiser participation this season. JioStar revealed that 125 new advertisers came on board compared to the previous season. The advertiser mix includes both legacy Indian brands and new-age digital-first companies looking to leverage the scale and popularity of the IPL.
The company also credited its content innovations for enhancing fan engagement during the tournament. One of the notable additions this season has been the “Champions Wali Feed”, featuring former cricketers and legends such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan, who provide analysis, predictions and behind-the-scenes insights alongside live coverage.
The broadcaster said the tournament’s momentum has also been fuelled by the emergence of young talent and strong performances from established stars, helping maintain high audience interest deep into the season. With every match carrying major playoff implications, the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League continues to deliver strong engagement across demographics and regions.
