CNN is set to bring the Asia edition of its Global Perspectives events franchise to Bangkok on October 14, 2026, marking a significant step in its effort to deepen engagement across the region. The event will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and industry voices to discuss key issues shaping international business, policy, and economic development.
According to a press release, the inaugural Asia chapter titled ‘Global Perspectives: In Bangkok’ will serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on global transformation, leadership, and emerging economic trends. The event will feature conversations led by prominent CNN journalists including Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Richard Quest, and Kristie Lu Stout, alongside other correspondents such as Will Ripley and Hanako Montgomery.
Positioned as a global economic and cultural hub, Bangkok provides a fitting backdrop for the gathering, especially as it coincides with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings taking place in the city. The overlap is expected to amplify participation from influential stakeholders, creating a unique opportunity for dialogue at a time when global power dynamics and economic priorities are rapidly evolving.
Ellana Lee, Group SVP, GM APAC and Global Head of Productions at CNN, said the Bangkok edition reflects the network’s ongoing commitment to Asia and its role in facilitating conversations that matter on the global stage. She noted that the event will bring together influential voices to explore opportunities and challenges shaping both the region and the wider world.
James Hunt, SVP and Head of Client Solutions & Business Lead for Global Perspectives at CNN International Commercial, highlighted the platform’s role in enabling meaningful engagement between leaders and partners. He added that hosting the event in Bangkok opens new avenues for collaboration and positions brand partners within discussions that drive global change.
The expansion of Global Perspectives into Asia builds on CNN’s longstanding presence in the region, supported by its network of bureaus across cities including Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, New Delhi, and Islamabad. The Bangkok edition is expected to further strengthen this footprint by fostering deeper regional and international connections.
The invitation-only event will be hosted at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok and will see participation from decision-makers across sectors such as technology, finance, healthcare, media, and geopolitics. While additional speaker details are yet to be announced, the event is expected to offer a high-impact forum for dialogue and collaboration among global leaders.
