The makers of ‘Panchayat’ have officially confirmed Season 5, marking six years since the show first premiered on April 3, 2020. The announcement comes as a major moment for fans of the widely loved series, with production for the new season already underway.
According to a UNI report, the announcement coincides with the show’s sixth anniversary, with Prime Video also revealing that shooting for the upcoming instalment has begun. Over the years, the series has built a strong connection with audiences, emerging as one of India’s most consistent and beloved storytelling successes.
Since its debut, ‘Panchayat’ has steadily grown in popularity, with each season deepening its emotional appeal while retaining its grounded humour. Season 4, in particular, delivered record-breaking numbers, registering the biggest opening in the franchise’s history during its launch week. On its very first day, the show featured among the Top 10 titles in more than 42 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and the UAE.
The scale of its reach has been equally impressive domestically. During its launch week, the show was watched across 95 per cent of India’s pin codes and in over 180 countries globally. This widespread engagement has only heightened anticipation for the next chapter.
Season 5 is expected to pick up from the intense and emotional finale of the previous season. Viewers last saw Sachivji grappling with his next move after his CAT results, while Manju Devi was dealing with the aftermath of her election loss, and Pradhanji remained unsettled by the developments in Phulera. The upcoming season promises to build on these storylines, blending drama, humour, and the show’s signature small-town charm.
Produced by The Viral Fever, the series continues under the creative leadership of Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar. The new season will see the return of its core cast, including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar and Pankaj Jha.
With its relatable storytelling and strong character arcs, ‘Panchayat’ has carved a unique space in India’s digital entertainment landscape.
