‘Call Me Bae’ has officially wrapped up filming for its second season, with Ananya Panday sharing a glimpse from the final day of the shoot, building anticipation among fans.
According to an ANI report, the actor, who had been shooting extensively in Thailand, took to Instagram Stories to mark the wrap. She posted a picture of a celebratory cake that read “CMB 2 Season Wrap,” along with a caption that hinted at the show’s return, saying, “See you very soon guys.”
The upcoming season is set to take Bae’s journey forward as her own news show finally goes on air, bringing with it both fame and a new set of challenges. As her professional life gains momentum, her personal life becomes increasingly complicated, especially with the return of her ex-husband and the growing presence of her charming boss, leaving her torn between emotions and ambition.
The narrative will also explore evolving dynamics within her close circle of friends. The entry of a ‘Nayi Behen’ into the group is expected to create tension, adding another layer of drama to the storyline.
Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta, the series continues under the direction of Collin D’Cunha. The writing team includes Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair, who are expected to build on the tone and humour that defined the first season.
Alongside Ananya Panday, the new season will see the return of several familiar faces, including Vir Das, Shruti Haasan, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt and Lisa Mishra. Actor Mini Mathur is also set to join the cast this season.
The first season of ‘Call Me Bae’, which was released in September 2024, struck a chord with audiences for its light-hearted take on ambition, relationships and self-discovery. With production now complete, the second season is expected to return with more drama, humour and twists in Bae’s evolving journey.
