Digital creator-turned-actor Prajakta Koli is set to bring her romance novel ‘Too Good To Be True’ to the screen, with a web series adaptation currently in the works. Koli will not only headline the show, but also take on the role of producer, marking another significant step in her expanding creative journey.
According to a UNI report, the project is expected to go on floors in the second half of the year, although key details such as the director and additional casting are yet to be finalised. The adaptation reflects Koli’s steady evolution from a YouTube creator to a multi-faceted presence in the entertainment industry.
Koli first rose to fame through her YouTube channel ‘MostlySane’ and later gained widespread recognition with the Netflix series ‘Mismatched’, along with appearances in films like ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’. With this project, she now moves further into content creation, bringing her own written work to life on screen.
Published in January 2025, ‘Too Good To Be True’ is a contemporary romance set in Mumbai. The story follows Avani, a law student who works part-time at a bookshop, and Aman, a charming and wealthy CEO. Their relationship unfolds gradually, navigating emotional baggage, personal growth, and the complexities of modern relationships, all told through a light-hearted and relatable narrative.
Koli is set to play Avani in the series, while the casting for Aman will be finalised once the writing process is complete. Interestingly, the actor has revealed that the story was originally conceived during the lockdown as a long-format visual project before it eventually took shape as a novel.
On the work front, Koli will also be seen in the fourth and final season of ‘Mismatched’, along with Netflix’s upcoming series ‘Operation Safed Sagar’, which explores the Indian Air Force’s role in the Kargil War. With the adaptation of ‘Too Good To Be True’, she continues to build a portfolio that blends storytelling across formats, reflecting her growing footprint in India’s entertainment landscape.
