India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has urged the distribution platforms to join the fight against Covid-19 and use their platforms to disseminate social messages related to the virus.
“The entire world is witnessing an unprecedented situation due to Covid-19 pandemic, in which gap between resource needs and resource availability needs to be bridged sagaciously. In this scenario, it may be appreciated that dissemination of correct information in critical situation is essential and of utmost importance,” a missive from MIB to distribution platforms yesterday said.
With approximately 1,700 registered MSOs and an estimated 25, 000 LCOs still running their networks in India, the government “requested (them) to take active part in the fight” by telecasting/relaying messages related to Covid-19 appropriate behaviors to obviate catching the Corona virus and that vaccination is a safety net.
MIB also included several links for the distributors to promote on their landing page.
