Mathrubhumi partners NDTV for ‘Power Play’ event in Thiruvananthapuram

Mathrubhumi has partnered with NDTV as the print partner for the day-long event NDTV Power Play, being held in the Kerala capital on Wednesday. The event aims to bring together senior political leaders, policymakers and analysts from across the political spectrum to discuss key issues shaping the state.

According to a NDTV press release, Mathrubhumi is supporting the event as its official print partner. The forum is designed as a platform for meaningful dialogue on governance, politics and policy, bringing together prominent voices from public life and the media.

Representing Mathrubhumi, K. A. Jhonny, Senior News Editor at Mathrubhumi Online, will moderate sessions alongside T. M. Veeraghav, Executive Editor at NDTV. The two will co-moderate a discussion titled ‘Minority Mandate: The Muslim League’s Calculus’, featuring P. K. Kunhalikutty, National Secretary of Indian Union Muslim League and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Kerala.

K. A. Jhonny will also participate in another session titled ‘Secularism and the Electoral Realities’, where he will join Veeraghav in moderating a discussion featuring political analyst Jaick C Thomas and commentator Rahul Easwar.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mayura Shreymas Kumar, Director of Digital Operations at Mathrubhumi Group, said the organisation is pleased to partner with NDTV for the event. She noted that as a media house deeply rooted in Kerala, Mathrubhumi values platforms that bring together leaders, policymakers and experts for meaningful discussions on issues affecting the state.

The event will also feature an address by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who will headline the dialogue and speak on the theme ‘The Keralam Model’. Several prominent leaders from across political parties are expected to participate in the discussions.

Among those scheduled to speak are Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament; Rajeev Chandrasekhar, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala; John Brittas, Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist); Ramesh Chennithala, former Home Minister of Kerala and senior Congress leader; and V. D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

The programme will also bring together diplomats, analysts, commentators and political leaders to deliberate on key issues across multiple sessions throughout the day.

Through this partnership, Mathrubhumi and NDTV aim to create a platform that encourages constructive dialogue and diverse perspectives on the political and social developments shaping Kerala today.
