Maruti Suzuki presents 24th Zee Cine Awards 2026, which takes place on Feb 28 in Mumbai, will feature Indian cinema at its best. A special musical tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra will be performed by singer-composer Mithoon and playback singer Palak Muchhal at the event..
According to a press release, the tribute performance will honour Dharmendra’s remarkable journey spanning over six decades, reflecting the emotional depth and cinematic legacy he created through his iconic roles. The ceremony aims to celebrate the bond between stars and their audiences, with music playing a central role in remembering one of Indian cinema’s most admired personalities.
The performance is expected to revisit timeless songs and moments associated with Dharmendra’s illustrious career, capturing the spirit of an actor widely remembered for his warmth, compassion and powerful screen presence. He had earlier received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Zee Cine Awards in 2005, dedicating the honour to his fans and acknowledging their continued support.
Speaking ahead of the performance at a press conference hosted by Zee Entertainment Enterprises in Mumbai, Mithoon shared his vision for the tribute, noting that the act would highlight some of the greatest songs associated with Dharmendra’s legacy. He said the presentation would revisit timeless compositions by renowned music directors such as Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Madan Mohan and R.D. Burman, aiming to showcase the history of Indian film music through the actor’s cinematic journey.
Dharmendra’s career has been marked by a wide range of performances, from emotionally resonant roles to memorable characters that defined different eras of Hindi cinema. Known for his authenticity and grounded personality, he continues to be remembered as a figure whose work reflected courage, humility and emotional depth. The tribute seeks to celebrate not only his artistic achievements but also his lasting influence on generations of filmmakers and audiences.
The star-studded awards ceremony will take place at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai on February 28 and March 1. The event will be presented by Maruti Suzuki, with additional partners including Hell Energy Drink, Rajdhani Dal, L’Oréal Paris Glycolic Gloss, Cadbury Dairy Milk and Balaji Wafers.
Cinema enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to attend the live event by registering for complimentary passes, as the awards night promises a grand celebration of talent, music and cinematic excellence while honouring the timeless legacy of Dharmendra.
