Excitel Broadband has announced a key leadership transition, appointing Varun Pasricha as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 2026, while co-founder Vivek Raina steps down from the role after leading the company for nearly a decade.
The company said Pasricha, who has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2018, will spearhead Excitel’s next phase of growth as it strengthens its fibre footprint and expands its partnership-driven model across India.
The transition marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey from a disruptive startup founded in 2015 to becoming one of India’s top four FTTH internet service providers, serving close to one million households across more than 50 cities and towns.
As CEO, Pasricha will focus on scaling fibre infrastructure, improving service quality, strengthening cable operator partnerships and accelerating customer acquisition across both existing and new markets. The company aims to deepen its presence in India’s fast-growing broadband sector by prioritising network expansion, operational efficiency and customer experience.
Pasricha has been instrumental in developing Excitel’s operational backbone over the past eight years, leading large-scale execution across network rollout, partner management, city expansion and service delivery. His work has helped the company scale rapidly while maintaining cost leadership and high customer retention.
Before joining Excitel, he held leadership and strategy roles at companies including Zomato, G4S, Max Healthcare and Indus Towers.
Speaking on his appointment, Pasricha said his focus will be on strengthening systems, enhancing customer experience, empowering the company’s partner ecosystem and driving disciplined expansion as the company moves towards its next growth milestone.
Raina, who has led Excitel since its inception, described his tenure as an “incredible journey”.
