Aaj Tak has announced the launch of its next-generation ePaper, ‘VPaper’, in collaboration with Dailyhunt, introducing a video-integrated news format aimed at digital-first audiences. The initiative seeks to combine the depth of print journalism with the immediacy of digital media, offering readers early morning access to curated news content.
According to an official announcement issued on February 19, 2026, the 12-page ePaper is designed to reach audiences before traditional newspapers are delivered and will be available free of cost. The platform covers a wide range of categories including business, sports, education, travel, and national affairs, making credible journalism more accessible to readers across the country.
A key feature of VPaper is its integrated video functionality, allowing readers to click on stories and instantly watch related news content. The “click-to-watch” format aims to transform conventional reading into an interactive multimedia experience by blending television-style storytelling with the familiar layout of a newspaper.
The collaboration brings together Aaj Tak’s legacy of on-ground reporting and editorial credibility with Dailyhunt’s strong distribution network and personalization technology. With its extensive reach across Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets and Bharat audiences, Dailyhunt is expected to help scale the new offering among mobile-first users across languages and regions.
Commenting on the launch, Salil Kumar, CEO – Digital Business, India Today Group, said the platform reimagines the morning news experience by combining journalistic authority with digital delivery and video storytelling, adding that its free availability makes it widely accessible. Sunil Mohapatra, SVP at Dailyhunt’s parent entity Verse, said the initiative aligns with the company’s mission to democratize access to credible news while introducing an engaging, video-enabled ePaper format.
The launch of VPaper marks a step toward redefining news consumption in India’s evolving digital ecosystem, reflecting a broader shift towards interactive and multimedia-driven journalism.
