Times Prime has announced a strategic partnership with Crunchyroll to expand its entertainment offerings, bringing premium anime streaming access to members across India. The collaboration marks a significant move to tap into the country’s growing appetite for anime and strengthen Times Prime’s curated portfolio of digital services.
The partnership enables Times Prime members to access Crunchyroll’s premium anime experience, reflecting the evolving entertainment preferences of India’s digitally native audience. As part of the offering, members opting for an annual Crunchyroll subscription through the platform will receive an exclusive two-month free trial.
Crunchyroll’s subscription provides access to an extensive library of anime series across genres such as action, fantasy, drama, romance and slice-of-life. The platform offers ad-free streaming, multiple language options including original Japanese audio with subtitles as well as dubbed versions, and simulcasts of new episodes shortly after their broadcast in Japan.
The collaboration comes at a time when anime’s popularity in India is rapidly rising, transitioning from a niche interest to mainstream entertainment. By integrating Crunchyroll into its ecosystem, Times Prime aims to enhance its value proposition for members, while Crunchyroll gains access to a premium and highly engaged audience through a trusted lifestyle platform.
Commenting on the development, Harshita Singh, Business Head at Times Prime, said the entertainment landscape today is driven by personalisation, quality and accessibility. She noted that the partnership would help meet the growing demand for anime while expanding the range of content available to members.
Akshat Sahu, Vice President, GTM & Partnerships Marketing, APAC & MENA at Crunchyroll, said India remains one of the fastest-growing anime markets globally, with audiences increasingly embracing the medium as part of their everyday entertainment. He added that the collaboration would help make anime more accessible to a digitally savvy community while strengthening the company’s long-term commitment to fans in the country.
