The upcoming episode of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ promises not just exciting gameplay but also candid and heartfelt moments, as Akshay Kumar made a surprising confession about his reading habits during an engaging interaction with a contestant.
The actor revealed that despite being married to a writer, he has never read a book in his life, leaving the audience amused.
During the episode, contestant Yash introduced himself with an interesting analogy about his life, saying, “Meri life bhi Wheel of Fortune ke pahiye jaisi hai — pahiye ka kaanta kahan rukta hai mujhe bhi nahi pata.” A Marine Engineer by education and profession, Yash shared that for the past decade he has also been working as a cartoon scriptwriter and serves as an anchor for the Mumbai Indians.
He further revealed that he has written for several cartoon shows and has worked on three projects for filmmaker Rohit Shetty, including ‘Golmaal’, ‘Little Singham’ and ‘Simmba’. With a touch of humour, Yash added that he hopes to write for Sooryavanshi as well, joking, “Helicopter pakad ke Sooryavanshi ki entry ho, main uske liye bhi likhu.”
Impressed by his journey, Akshay Kumar responded, “So basically, you are a writer.” The conversation then took an unexpected turn when the actor candidly spoke about his own reading habits. “Aapko pata hai maine zindagi mein aaj tak ek bhi kitab nahi padhi hai. Main chehre padhta hoon. Sach bataun, meri wife writer hain aur mujhe lagta hai woh din mein ek kitab zaroor padhti hain. By God, maine ek bhi kitab nahi padhi. Maine sirf chehre padhe hain. Sach kehta hoon, chehre se badiya kitab koi nahi hoti,” he said.
His honest and humorous confession drew laughter from the audience and added yet another memorable moment to the show, highlighting the actor’s candid personality and spontaneous charm.
‘Wheel of Fortune’, hosted by Akshay Kumar, airs every Monday to Friday at 9pm on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on Sony LIV.
