Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan is set to return to television as the host of the upcoming reality show ‘The 50’, with actors Divyaa Agarwal and Karan Patel confirmed as contestants.
The show is the Indian adaptation of a popular international format by Banijay and will bring together well-known faces from television and digital platforms for a high-stakes competition driven by strategy, social dynamics and survival.
As per a UNI report, ‘The 50’ promises a fresh twist on the reality genre, placing contestants in a pressure-cooker environment where alliances, gameplay and personal resilience will determine who survives till the end. The show marks Divyaa Agarwal’s return to reality television after a brief hiatus during which she focused on acting assignments and web-based projects.
Speaking in a press release, Divyaa said that while acting remains her first love, returning to a reality format feels special at this stage of her career. She noted that her journey from reality shows to experimenting with bold and unconventional storytelling in projects such as ‘Fuh Se Fantasy’ on JioHotstar has helped her evolve both as a performer and as an actor, making this comeback all the more meaningful.
Karan Patel, who is also part of the confirmed lineup, said it was the unique concept of the show that persuaded him to sign on. Admitting that staying locked inside a house for a month away from friends and family was never something he had imagined for himself, Karan said the moment he heard the idea behind ‘The 50’, he felt an instant pull towards it. He added that the mix of games, competition and unpredictability excites him, and he is looking forward to meeting fellow contestants and giving his best to the experience.
Hosted by Farah Khan, ‘The 50’ is expected to blend high-energy entertainment with mind games and emotional moments. Known for her candid hosting style and sharp wit, Farah’s presence is likely to add an engaging edge to the format.
The reality show is scheduled to stream on JioHotstar and will also air on Colors starting February 1, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and closely watched new addition to the reality television space.
