Veteran actor Boman Irani has come on board the upcoming film ‘Peddi’, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, further strengthening the cast of the much-anticipated project.
Known for his memorable performances in films such as ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Don – The Chase Begins Again’ and ‘Jolly LLB’, Irani’s addition has added to the buzz surrounding the film.
According to an ANI report, the makers shared a behind-the-scenes photograph from the sets featuring Boman Irani with director Buchi Babu Sana and cinematographer R. Rathnavelu. The post was accompanied by a caption praising the actor, calling it an honour to work with the “legend and true cinema lover” and describing him as a perfect fit for Buchi Babu Sana’s script.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘Peddi’ is being described as a rustic emotional drama and is expected to showcase one of Ram Charan’s most intense performances to date. Since its announcement, the film has generated considerable anticipation, driven by its scale, ensemble cast and the involvement of music maestro A.R. Rahman.
The makers had earlier unveiled the film’s first single, ‘Chikiri Chikiri’, in November. The song, featuring Rahman’s music and Ram Charan’s effortless dance moves, was well received by audiences, with many praising its melody and visuals, which offered a glimpse into the film’s tone and aesthetic.
Earlier this year, a teaser titled ‘Peddi First Shot’ was released on the occasion of Ram Navami. The teaser showed Ram Charan in a rugged avatar, walking through a dusty field, lighting a beedi and delivering a line that underscored the film’s raw and grounded mood: “I have only one life to live, and I want to make the most of it.”
In addition to Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor and Boman Irani, the film also features Jagapathi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu Sharma in key roles. ‘Peddi’ is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, and produced under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas.
The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026.
