Actor Prabhas on Tuesday announced the launch of the Script Craft International Short Film Festival, a new platform designed to encourage emerging storytellers and filmmakers from across the globe to present their creative work. The initiative aims to provide aspiring creators with visibility and a meaningful opportunity to turn their ideas into viable careers in cinema.
According to a PTI report, the actor unveiled the festival through a video message shared on Instagram, where he underlined the intent behind the initiative. “The Script Craft isn’t just a festival — it’s where stories become careers,” Prabhas said, positioning the platform as a launchpad for fresh voices rather than just a competitive showcase.
The festival is open to short films of two minutes and above, with no restriction on genre, allowing creators complete freedom in storytelling. Submissions from filmmakers around the world will compete over a 90-day period, during which the films will be available for public viewing and engagement.
Winners of the festival will be determined through a combination of audience votes, likes and ratings, placing strong emphasis on viewer participation and real-time feedback. The format is intended to encourage organic discovery of talent while giving filmmakers direct insight into how audiences respond to their work.
With the Script Craft International Short Film Festival, Prabhas adds to a growing list of industry figures supporting grassroots filmmaking, signalling a push towards more inclusive and accessible platforms for the next generation of storytellers.
