Aamir Khan Productions is set to present a new documentary titled ‘Sitaaron Ke Sitaare’, offering a heartfelt look into the lives and journeys of the parents whose children featured in the film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’.
The documentary aims to shine a light on the emotional, social and personal experiences behind the making of the much-acclaimed film.
Released in June, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ was directed by R S Prasanna and starred Aamir Khan alongside a group of young debutants including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar. The children featured in the film are individuals with Down Syndrome and autism, and their performances were widely appreciated for their authenticity and warmth.
While the film focused on the children and their world, ‘Sitaaron Ke Sitaare’ turns the lens towards their parents, exploring their challenges, resilience, hopes and the everyday realities of raising children with special needs. The documentary seeks to capture stories of perseverance and unconditional support that often remain unseen.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ struck a strong emotional chord with audiences and went on to cross Rs.250 crore at the worldwide box office, emerging as both a critical and commercial success.
