Fans of the much-loved television comedy ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’ are in for another dose of laughter as the makers gear up to expand the franchise with its sequel, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0’. The new chapter promises to retain the show’s trademark humour while introducing fresh surprises and a playful supernatural element.
According to IANS, the makers recently dropped the first glimpse of the upcoming show on social media, announcing its arrival with their characteristic wit. “Ghoonghatganj ki galiyon se ghoonghat uthaake, aa rahi hain asli se bhi asli Bhabhiji hansi ka tadka lagaane. Sahi Pakde Hain! Dekhiye naye avtaar mein, #BhabijiGharParHain2.0, bahut jald, sirf &TV par,” the post read, instantly sparking excitement among viewers.
Set in the intriguing town of Ghunghatganj, the sequel introduces a new backdrop where age-old traditions coexist with mystery and hidden secrets. Circumstances lead the familiar characters — Tiwari, Angoori, Anita and Vibhuti — to this eccentric town, setting off a chain of comic chaos. Their interactions with the quirky residents of Ghunghatganj result in unexpected situations, misunderstandings and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
Adding a layer of intrigue is the introduction of Vidya, a mysterious and enigmatic character whose presence keeps everyone guessing. Her arrival brings together elements of humour, suspense and delightful surprises, giving the show a fresh narrative flavour while staying rooted in its comedic core.
Produced by EDIT II Productions, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0’ blends light-hearted comedy with drama, suspense and supernatural fun. The show is expected to premiere shortly on &TV and will also be available for streaming on ZEE5 in Hindi.
Originally inspired by the 1990s sitcom Shrimaan Shrimati, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain first aired on 2 March 2015 on &TV and went on to become one of Indian television’s most popular comedy shows. Beyond the sequel, the franchise is also making its way to the big screen with ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain – Fun On The Run’, which is slated for a theatrical release on 6 February 2026.
