ShemarooMe has added a festive twist to December by announcing a special year-end celebration for Gujarati cinema lovers.
The platform has launched a 10-day ‘Gujju Film Fest’, running from December 6 to 15, offering viewers one acclaimed Gujarati film for free each day.
The initiative brings a vibrant mix of genres and storytelling styles, giving audiences an easy way to revisit some of the most talked-about regional titles of the past decade.
According to a press release, the festival has been designed as a ‘Gujarati glitter’ moment for the year-end, spotlighting films that have shaped modern Gujarati cinema. Over the years, the industry has steadily expanded its footprint with richer narratives, stronger performances and a growing viewer base both in India and abroad. The curated line-up aims to celebrate that evolution while ensuring free access to stories that resonate deeply with Gujarati audiences.
The films chosen for the fest represent the diversity the industry is now known for—from heart-warming dramas to thrillers, slice-of-life stories and socially rooted narratives. Viewers can stream favourites like ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’, ‘Jhamkudi’, ‘Vash’ and the National Award-winning ‘Hellaro’, which remain milestones in the new Gujarati wave.
Titles such as ‘Bachubhai’, ‘Mithada Maheman’ and ‘Kutch Express’ bring emotional depth and relatable themes, while ‘Naadi Dosh’ explores relationships through the lens of astrology. Rounding off the catalogue is ‘Umbarro’, a story of liberation and joy centred on seven women finding their voice.
ShemarooMe has positioned the fest as both a celebration and an appreciation of homegrown storytelling. Gujarati cinema has seen significant growth in the past few years, driven by distinct voices, relatable characters and universal themes wrapped in regional flavour. With this festival, the platform aims to make premium films easily accessible to a larger audience while giving viewers a chance to revisit the titles that contributed to the industry’s creative rise.
