Actor Gulshan Devaiah is gearing up for his first Telugu project with ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming production venture.
The film, backed by Tralala Moving Pictures, marks Samantha’s second outing as a producer after ‘Subham’ and is directed by filmmaker Nandini Reddy.
Devaiah said he had long been hoping for an opportunity to collaborate with Samantha, and this film arrived at the “right time”, PTI reported.
The actor shared that he is currently immersed in preparations for the role, describing his character as challenging while choosing to keep further details under wraps. “I’ve been waiting for a good opportunity to do something with Samantha and MIB came in at the right time it seems. I’m currently neck deep in preparation. I don’t want to say anything about my part or the film but it’s a pretty challenging part to play and I’m hoping I will put in the necessary effort and won’t mess it up. Let’s see,” he said in a statement.
Devaiah was last seen in ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, directed by Rishab Shetty. Released in October, the prequel to the 2022 hit featured him as Kulshekara, a king who attempts to destroy the forests of Kantara and faces divine consequences. His performance was widely noted for its intensity and layered portrayal.
Apart from his Telugu debut, Devaiah will also lead Netflix’s upcoming Tamil series Legacy, directed by Charukesh Sekar. The family gangster drama features a strong ensemble cast including R. Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan, Gautham Karthik and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles. He was recently seen in the web series ‘Perfect Family’.
With ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’, Devaiah steps into yet another language industry, adding to the diversity of his already versatile filmography.
The film is expected to go on floors soon.
