‘Love in Vietnam’, featuring Shantanu Maheshwari of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ fame and Avneet Kaur, known for her role in ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, is all set to release in theatres across Korea on December 8.
The film’s overseas outing marks another milestone for a project that has already drawn attention for its unique cross-cultural foundation.
According to a PTI report, the film is directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi and stands out as the first-ever India–Vietnam collaboration in Hindi cinema.
The project brings together talent from both countries in a story that seeks to expand the creative and commercial exchange between the two industries.
Love in Vietnam is described as a heart-wrenching romantic drama inspired by the celebrated best-selling novel Madonna in a Fur Coat by Turkish author Sabahattin Ali. The story, known for its emotional depth and fragile human connections, has been adapted for the screen with an Indian-Vietnamese backdrop, adding a fresh dimension to the narrative.
The film’s Korea release signals growing international curiosity around South Asian cinema and strengthens the global footprint of newer, collaborative storytelling formats. With Maheshwari and Kaur leading the cast, the makers are hopeful that the film will resonate with audiences beyond India and Vietnam, tapping into the universal appeal of emotionally rich love stories.
