Big FM has appointed seasoned media executive Ashit Kukian as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 December 2025.
The announcement marks a significant leadership shift for the network as it prepares for its next phase of growth in an increasingly competitive audio and entertainment landscape.
According to the press communication, Kukian steps into the role after completing a notable seven-year tenure as CEO of Music Broadcast Limited (Radio City), where he served from September 2018 until August this year.
During his leadership, he steered the network through a fast-evolving audio ecosystem, driving innovation, strengthening audience engagement, and fortifying Radio City’s brand presence despite intensified market competition.
Kukian brings over three decades of experience spanning radio, print, television and outdoor media. Prior to his time at Radio City, he held key leadership roles across major media organisations. He served as COO–NewsX and CRO–Non News at iTV Network between May 2017 and September 2018, where he oversaw operations and revenue strategy. Before that, from 2015 to 2017, he was President–Revenue at Times Network, leading growth across its broadcast platforms.
His earlier career includes a decade-long stint as President and COO at Radio City between 2005 and 2015, where he was instrumental in shaping programming, operations, and the network’s early brand evolution. Before entering radio, he spent nearly 13 years at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (Times Group) as Regional Head from 1992 to 2005, gaining extensive experience across media functions. Kukian has also been associated with digital expansion initiatives, including RadioCity.in, developed with AA Jagran to enhance integrated radio–digital engagement.
With Big FM’s appointment, industry watchers expect Kukian to bring strategic clarity and renewed momentum to the network at a time when radio continues to diversify into digital, branded content, and on-ground experiences. His broad experience across traditional and emerging formats positions him to steer Big FM’s transition into the next phase of radio and audio entertainment.
