Aaj Tak strengthened its position as India’s leading news broadcaster on counting day, securing the highest national viewership in the 08:00–12:00 time band on Friday, November 14. The latest Week 45 data shared which highlights the channel’s commanding performance across key audience metrics.
According to a press release, Aaj Tak posted an AMA of 1,847, placing it well ahead of its nearest competitor, News18 India, which recorded 1,005 AMA. The numbers reaffirm Aaj Tak’s dominance in the Hindi news segment, especially during high-engagement political events where real-time updates drive mass tune-ins.
In the general entertainment category, SONY SAB emerged as the top performer in the same time slot with 1,436 AMA, followed closely by B4U Music (1,160) and STAR Maa (1,057). The ratings indicate that morning viewership remained robust across genres, with non-news channels retaining consistent audiences despite the nationwide election buzz.
Regional broadcasters continued their strong hold over language markets. South Indian networks such as Gemini TV (1,079), Sun TV (1,221), and Zee Telugu (707) maintained solid traction, reflecting stable loyalty among regional audiences even on nationally significant days.
Daily average reach (DAU) metrics mirrored the overall trend. As per the Aaj Tak press note, the channel achieved the highest daily reach at 12,593, while News18 India followed at 10,531. Among entertainment channels, SONY SAB registered a reach of 10,344, reinforcing its steady weekday momentum.
The Week 45 performance sets the tone for an increasingly competitive year-end phase, with broadcasters across news and entertainment gearing up for stronger audience acquisition strategies. With political developments, festival specials, and annual programming peaks aligning, the broadcast ecosystem is expected to witness heightened viewership battles as the year draws to a close.
