On the sacred banks of the Ganga, where centuries of music and devotion flow together, NDTV Good Times is set to host a one-of-a-kind musical celebration ‘Harmony by the Ganga’ on November 29 at Namo Ghat, Varanasi.
The event will witness the legendary A.R. Rahman performing in India’s oldest living city for the very first time, marking a milestone in the city’s cultural history.
According to a press release, ‘Harmony by the Ganga’ will bring together the magic of Rahman’s music and the timeless spirit of Varanasi a place where melodies and mantras coexist with the rhythm of life itself. The evening promises to be an unforgettable confluence of sound, spirituality, and artistry, as Rahman’s compositions resonate with the eternal flow of the river.
The concert, curated by NDTV Good Times, will also feature ‘Jhalaa’ a band personally chosen by A.R. Rahman bringing together a symphony of classical traditions and contemporary sounds. As the ghats of Varanasi come alive with lights and music, the event aims to create an atmosphere that uplifts and inspires, blending India’s deep-rooted heritage with the vibrance of modern expression.
Preparations at Namo Ghat are already in full swing, with attention to every detail — from stage design to world-class sound and lighting arrangements. The goal is to craft an immersive and seamless experience that mirrors the grandeur of its setting. Every element, from acoustics to ambiance, is being carefully orchestrated to ensure that the performance remains etched in the memory of those who witness it.
This initiative follows NDTV Good Times’ successful cultural showcase earlier this year, when the channel brought Sonu Nigam to Dal Lake in Srinagar a performance that marked a historic moment for the Valley. With ‘Harmony by the Ganga’, NDTV Good Times continues its vision of creating landmark experiences that celebrate India’s music, heritage, and collective spirit, reaffirming the power of art to unite and inspire.
