Mirchi Bangla has etched its name in history this festive season by going live for an unprecedented 1,000 hours of non-stop entertainment, capturing the vibrant spirit, joy, and cultural grandeur of Bengal’s biggest celebrations Durga Pujo and Kali Pujo.
The initiative marks a landmark moment for the brand and for Bengali listeners across the state, redefining festive engagement in an entirely new way.
According to a press release, this year’s celebrations were unlike anything Bengal had witnessed before. Mirchi not only brought Pujo alive for audiences with continuous live coverage but also celebrated another historic milestone — its iconic property Sunday Suspense surpassing 3 million subscribers on YouTube, amassing over 1.2 billion lifetime views and 372.6 million hours of watch time. The achievement further solidifies Sunday Suspense as Bengal’s most loved audio storytelling series, blending nostalgia and creativity with contemporary digital reach.
The grand celebrations extended beyond Kolkata, spreading Pujo cheer to Siliguri, Asansol, and Durgapur, with Mirchi RJs capturing the pulse of Bengal from city pandals to neighbourhood communities. From bustling streets to vibrant RWAs, Mirchi’s live sessions showcased stories, laughter, music, and interactive contests — bringing the audience closer to the heart of the festivities.
Adding a melodious touch to the celebrations, superstar Jisshu Sengupta unveiled Mirchi’s exclusive Pujo Song, sung by Ujjaini Mukherjee, Sourav Chatterjee, and Shreyoshi Chakraborty. The collaboration once again brought together the best of Tollywood talent, blending traditional rhythms with a modern spirit to amplify the festive euphoria.
The celebrations continued through Kali Pujo with equal zeal and splendour. For the first time ever, Mirchi introduced the Shyamasree Award, a distinctive recognition honouring the devotion, artistry, and creativity of Bengal’s most iconic Kali Pujo organisers. As part of this new initiative, Mirchi RJs travelled across the city, capturing the divine energy of Maa Kali’s worship and the electric ambience that defines Bengal’s night of lights.
The excitement was not confined to the studios. Mirchi’s branded car, famously known as Bahan, and the Mirchi Singhabahini became the pulse of the city, travelling through Bengal’s streets led by popular RJs Ayantika, Neel, Manali, Mohor, Sayan, and Indroneel. Their on-ground energy connected listeners, devotees, and pandal-hoppers in one grand celebration of music, devotion, and joy.
