The trailer of ‘Ikkis’, one of the most anticipated war dramas of the year, has finally been unveiled, introducing Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal — India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. The film traces the remarkable journey of the 21-year-old soldier whose courage and conviction became a symbol of valour during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
The gripping trailer opens with a young, determined Khetarpal, played by Agastya, vowing to earn the Param Vir Chakra for his regiment. It follows his days at the National Defence Academy, his rigorous training, and his eventual deployment during the Battle of Basantar. Alongside the patriotic fervour, viewers also glimpse a tender love story that unfolds amid his preparation for war, an ANI report from Mumbai stated yesterday.
As the visuals intensify, the trailer showcases the iconic Famagusta tank, which Khetarpal commanded during the Indo-Pak conflict. Veteran actor Dharmendra appears as Khetarpal’s father, while Jaideep Ahlawat portrays a senior officer who praises the young lieutenant’s indomitable spirit.
‘Ikkis’ promises to be an emotional and inspiring tribute to a national hero whose story has rarely been told on screen. Earlier this month, the makers shared Nanda’s first look in uniform, followed by a teaser that featured a historic Telegram message announcing Khetarpal’s martyrdom during the 1971 war.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, ‘Ikkis’ is set for a theatrical release in December 2025.
