In a landmark collaboration set to reshape the podcasting landscape, Spotify and Netflix are teaming up to bring a curated lineup of video podcasts to the streaming giant’s platform. Starting early 2026, select shows from Spotify Studios and The Ringer will stream on Netflix in the US, with plans to roll out in additional markets soon after.
According to a Spotify media statement, the partnership will expand access to some of the most popular sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime podcasts—bringing creators to new audiences and offering fans more ways to engage with their favourite shows. Among the first titles coming to Netflix are ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast’, ‘The Rewatchables’, ‘Dissect’, ‘Conspiracy Theories’, and ‘Serial Killers’, along with popular sports titles like ‘The Ringer NBA Show’ and ‘The Mismatch’.
Lauren Smith, Netflix’s VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch. As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences. From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix.”
This creative alliance underscores Spotify’s evolution beyond audio, as the company continues to invest in making podcasting a truly multi-format medium. Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Head of Podcasts at Spotify, described the collaboration as “a new chapter for podcasting,” adding, “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favorites they never expected.”
The initiative also reinforces Spotify’s commitment to empowering creators through wider distribution, audience growth, and multiple revenue streams. As both platforms explore new frontiers in storytelling, the partnership marks a significant moment where streaming entertainment and podcasting converge, creating a shared ecosystem for creators and audiences alike.
With this move, Spotify and Netflix are not just merging mediums—they’re reshaping the way stories are watched, heard, and experienced worldwide.
