National Award-winning filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar is set to helm ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’, touted as India’s first AI-driven theatrical film in Hindi.
The movie, produced by Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network’s Historyverse, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Hanuman Jayanti 2026, promising a unique blend of traditional storytelling and cutting-edge technology.
According to an ANI report, the makers announced on their social media that Mapuskar has joined the project, which is powered by over 50 engineers from Galleri5, the tech division of Collective Artists Network. The team is collaborating with cultural scholars, literary experts, and writers to ensure narrative authenticity while harnessing generative AI technology to bring the epic tale of Lord Hanuman to life.
Expressing his excitement, Mapuskar said, “Taking on a project that fearlessly embraces innovation is both thrilling and daunting. The story of Lord Hanuman is timeless, filled with strength, devotion, and purpose, and it is a rare opportunity to steer a film that honours India’s spiritual heritage while pioneering the future of filmmaking. I am eager to work with the brilliant team of writers and researchers to create a compelling experience for movie-goers worldwide.”
Rajesh Mapuskar has previously earned acclaim for films like ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ and the Marathi film ‘Ventilator’, which won him the National Award for Best Director in 2017. With ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’, Mapuskar is poised to explore a new dimension of cinematic storytelling, merging India’s cultural legacy with next-generation AI technology.
