Bollywood’s iconic duo Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan reunited on Prime Video’s talk show ‘Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle’, reviving the infectious camaraderie that made them one of the most-loved on-screen pairs of the 90s. Known for their unbeatable chemistry in cult classics like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ and ‘Yeh Dillagi’, the two stars delivered a laughter-filled, nostalgia-heavy episode packed with wit, warmth, and candid confessions.
According to a Prime Video press note, the latest episode saw Akshay and Saif slipping effortlessly back into their trademark rhythm as they swapped memories from their early collaborations, teasing each other about marriage, fatherhood, and fame. Akshay had everyone in splits when he recalled a behind-the-scenes moment from the sets of ‘Yeh Dillagi’. “In Yeh Dillagi, I remember he had to jump off a helicopter. But, he didn’t jump, and Tinu (Verma) was shouting… ‘Jump, Saif, jump!’” Akshay shared, laughing. “He eventually did it and matched up with me.” Twinkle Khanna playfully added, applauding Saif’s guts, “He’s a real-life hero.”
The conversation also took an emotional turn as Saif reflected on his marriage to Amrita Singh, speaking with rare candour about their time together. “Twenty-one is young, and things change. We know that things didn’t work out,” Saif admitted. “But apart from having two wonderful children, I don’t think I’ve said before how important Amrita was in my life — to help me understand my way through the film industry. Her contribution and help at that time were invaluable. It’s a pity that things didn’t work out, but she’s a wonderful mum, and I’m lucky we get along really well.”
Adding her signature humour and wisdom, Twinkle Khanna reflected on 25 years of marriage with Akshay, quipping, “Love has very little to do with marriage. It’s a good starting point, but marriage is about being a team.” She compared marriage to a tennis partnership — “It’s like you’re Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes, whacking every ball that comes your side.” She then added cheekily, “And also if Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes like to occasionally make out, preferably twice a week and when the kids are fast asleep.” Akshay jumped in with his trademark humour, joking, “You could have said Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi,” prompting Twinkle to laugh and reply, “I got inspired after seeing their bromance.”
Akshay also took the audience down memory lane with a story from the “Awesome Foursome” world tour, where he, Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla performed for global superstar Madonna. “She came to watch our show, and we all gave our best,” Akshay recounted. “Then one performer sang, ‘You look to me a virgin, you have a virgin smile!’ She was there with her husband and child — but she was very nice. She waited till the song finished, then quietly walked out. That was the end of Hollywood stars coming to watch us.”
Conceptualised and produced by Banijay Asia, ‘Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle’ is presented by Oppo and co-presented by Kohler, Kalyan Jewellers, and Fevi Kwik. The third episode, featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories, with new episodes releasing every Thursday.
