Every actor dreams of a role that challenges them to deliver their best, and Bobby Deol believes he has found one in ‘Bandar’, his upcoming film with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
The film, which marks the first collaboration between Deol and Kashyap, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the ‘Special Presentations’segment. Speaking about the experience, Deol said the project gave him an opportunity to explore a character that demanded both emotional and professional depth.
Inspired by real-life events, ‘Bandar’ traces the story of a fading star who is accused of rape by his former girlfriend. The narrative is built around systemic injustices, silenced voices in courtrooms, and the grim realities of a legal framework often seen as deeply flawed.
For Bobby Deol, who has been receiving critical acclaim in recent years for reinventing himself with unconventional roles, ‘Bandar’ marks another bold step. Paired with Kashyap’s gritty filmmaking style, the film promises to offer audiences a raw and hard-hitting experience.
