Prime Video has officially renewed its critically acclaimed comedy series ‘Overcompensating’ for a second season, following the overwhelming response to its debut season.
According to a PTI report, actor-creator Benito Skinner, who also stars in the series, expressed his excitement, saying, “I have been so overwhelmed by the insane response to the show, and feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University with Amazon MGM Studios, A24, Strong Baby, and this legendary cast for season two.”
‘Overcompensating’ follows the story of a college football player grappling with his sexuality, often overcompensating in attempts to fit in. The show, produced under the banners of A24, Amazon MGM Studios, and Strong Baby, has been praised for its humour, relatability, and candid portrayal of identity struggles in a college setting.
The renewal ensures that fans will return to Yates University to witness the next chapter of the protagonist’s journey, blending comedy with heartfelt moments.
Season two is expected to continue exploring the nuances of friendship, self-discovery, and college life, maintaining the sharp wit and charm that made the first season a standout on Prime Video.
